Our Club
Surrey Field Hockey Club was established in 2005 by a dedicated and motivated team of individuals, lead by Sukhminder Singh Sekhon, who is also the club President. Surrey Lions are based in Surrey, B.C, and have players from Surrey, Delta, Abbotsford, Richmond, Vancouver and various other communities spread throughout the Lower Mainland. All our players are very passionate about the game, and always strive to work together as ONE TEAM.

SURREY – July 20, 2010- The Air India team has landed in vancouver and they will be participating in the 3rd anuual surrey cup this weekend.
SURREY – July 19, 2010- SFHC and Dream star Surrey, British Columbia is set to host the action-packed 3rd Annual Surrey Cup International Hockey Tournament 2010 when The Surrey Lions compete with a myriad of highly acclaimed field hockey teams, July 23-25, 2010.Last year brought over 8,000 to 10,000 participants & attendees and this year’s bigger and better event is set to expect a huge crowd. Former and present Hockey Olympians and other Hockey greats will be present at the tournament to promote the game of Field Hockey.
More than 22 of the world’s best teams in field hockey have confirmed they will compete in the Surrey Cup International Hockey Tournament, an event that combines skill and talent on one field for three days. Opening ceremonies commence mid-morning on July 23rd and closing ceremonies will wrap up the fan-fare event on the evening of July 25th.

About Us
Surrey lions are one of the top teams in North America. We are a member of the BC hockey league and Canada Hockey Federation. Surrey Field Hockey Club endeavours to promote Hockey in this little corner of the world. We plan to start Junior teams for both boys and girls, to further encourage the game. Perhaps it is the concept of "ONE TEAM", which has lead to the success of the Surrey Lions. The home turf of the Surrey Lions is at Tammanawis Park, which is at 64th Avenue & 126 Street, in Surrey B.C, Canada. It is the only water-based turf available in the City of Surrey.
Registration open for youth
The Surrey Lions Field Hockey Club has introduced a Youth Field Hockey Program. As a way to give back to the community and foster a sense of sportsmanship, the club has more than 70 youth, boys and girls, learning the sport. We are encouraged by the athleticism of our youth and want to help foster a way for them to attain scholarships, become World Cup participants, and future Olympians. Learning the fundamentals of field hockey, becoming fierce competitors, and understanding the many paths to attaining educational money and sports accolades with this sport is important. We are excited to help open doors for many youth.” Our coaches are highly qualified and professional. Special training given by Olympian Ranjeev Deol, Many national hockey players from India, Namdhari XI players, Shiv Kumar National team coach. Time to time we will bring special programmer for youths.
